Sharon Barnes has completed a training course to enable her to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. She now conducts her own surgeries and performs some minor surgical operations with the support of one of the doctors
The conditions she will be able to offer treatment and advice for are:- asthma, common cold, cough, cystitis in women, diarrhoea and vomiting, earache, emergency contraception, hayfever, head lice, hormone replacement therapy, laryngitis, skin infections, skin rashes, sinusitis, sore mouth, sore throat, thread worms, vaginal discharge/thrush, warts and verrucae. Children under 1 year and pregnant women must see a Doctor.
The Nurse Practitioner also provides telephone advice and is able to prescribe some medications and also provides minor surgery.
