Antenatal care is now largely carried out by the midwife. However, you should arrange to see one of the doctors early in your pregnancy. The doctor will then offer you a booking clinic appointment with the midwife when full information about your pregnancy will be given. The midwife will organise a hospital visit which will include an ultrasound scan. Subsequent appointments during your pregnancy will usually be with the midwife.
